Ben Lomond, Map 364S; 5th September 2007

Route: 3hrs; 955m = 3130' ascent; 7.2 miles

Access: Take road into Drymen, branch N following signs to Balmaha, continue for 11 miles (from Drymen) to Rowardenan.
Route: There is no longer a path from the hotel. The path now only starts at the Visitors' Centre immediately behind the pier and car park. It is a fast, well-engineered path all the way to the top. The wishing well near the top now seems to be by-passed as a result of re-routing the path higher on the hillside. There is a circular route continuing on with a return via the NW/SW ridge and Ptarmigan. The path is a very good one, but much less used than the other. It takes about the same time.
Conditions: 21°C at lochside; very light wind; dry. Top just clearing of cloud. Occasional sunny intervals.
